Scovill Zoo and Illinois Marathon

We recently took a trip to the Scovill Zoo and to lunch with several other families with young kids from our church.  Having just visited the St. Louis Zoo it wasn't quite as exciting, but we did get to ride on a cool train around the zoo, and saw some becautiful cheetahs and peacocks. 

This past weekend was the Illinois Marathon and its associated events in our town.  I ran the 5K Friday night, we cheered on runners Saturday morning, collected new and used shoes for a shoe drive, and Madeline ran in the Youth run.  We were exhausted from all the activities and then Madeline got sick.  She did a great job running and had a blast earning a medal with her little buddy!
