This weekend we celebrated the 4th of July over about 3 days!

Friday night we went to the Rockin' the Runway party in Rantoul, where I ran my second 5K. I finished in about 30:40, which is almost a minute faster than my time May 1st.

Madeline jumped in the bounce house and went down a huge inflatable slide...several times.

We watched fireworks and listened to music! It was Madeline's first time seeing fireworks, so kind of a big deal. She thought they were cool!

We danced to a pretty good band with some friends while we waited for the traffic to go down.

On Saturday we walked just down the block and saw the parade. Madeline collected more candy than at Halloween.

We spent the rest of the day at home not doing too much, but we did make red, white, and blue sugar cookies.

Today we celebrated Grandma's birthday with lots of yummy food, red velvet cake, and homemade ice cream! Madeline gave Grandma her own present of "chips and make-up" because that's what she thought Grandma should have for her birthday.
