A Long weekend at Oma and Opa's house

On Thursday we left for an extended weekend at Oma and Opa's house. On Friday we took Madeline to Woodfield to play on the indoor park. She loved it! She must have gone down the slide and up the stairs about 50 times. Then, Jared and I went to the new Illinois Holocaust Museum. It was interesting, but I would recommend waiting until they have been open a bit longer before going. Saturday we went to Brookfield Zoo bright and early! We were there right when it opened to avoid the crowds and the heat. Madeline really seemed to enjoy herself. She kept blowing kisses to every animal she saw and panted at most of them unless they were water animals or monkeys. She says "ooh-ooh-ee" for monkeys and "f" for fish. Then Oma and Opa took her to a graduation party while we went out to dinner for our anniversary.

On Sunday we enjoyed a nice Father's Day at home with Oma and Opa. We cooked out on Opa's new grill and sat on their new deck. Madeline even has her own chair...appropriately, it looks like a monkey.
Madeline and her Opa or "papa" as she calls him

On Monday we did a little shopping and then took Madeline to the park. It was too hot and she really just enjoyed swinging in the shade. We are home now, but we miss Oma and Opa. We'll see them again in a few weeks though when Madeline stays with them for 2 days on her own! Hope they're ready for her!
