Spring Break

We had our spring break this week and it was eventful! First, we went to Chicago for a few days. We didn't do anything too exciting though because I got strep throat. Thankfully, no one else got sick and after Tuesday I felt better. Madeline got a new Cubs shirt courtesy of Opa, which she proudly sported on Opening Day!


On Thursday it started getting a little warmer so Madeline and I headed to the park. She enjoyed the swings and the slides.


Finally, on Saturday we were able to spend a lot of time outside cleaning up the yard and playing. Madeline got really dirty but she had fun learning to walk around in the grass and talking to our neighbors through the fence.


This morning we went to church early to coincide with Madeline's nap time. After she napped we had a little Easter egg outside in the yard. She wore her pretty dress and found eggs with Teddy Grahams and Cheerios hidden inside. There was even an egg for the birthday boy, Scooter! He's 8ish today!


Madeline got a book, a CD, and a toy tea set from the Easter Bunny. She really loves her new tea set and has been pretending to drink and pour tea all day. She does not really want to share tea with us though, so we will have to work on that sharing thing. Grandma gave her an Easter present too and we had a big, yummy lunch at Grandma and Grandpa's house. She really enjoyed lamb cake and fruit pizza. After lunch, we went to the One Week Boutique sale and got her some more things so I bet she thinks its her birthday or Christmas all over again.
