Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great time visiting Oma & Opa for Thanksgiving and getting to spend time with many family members!  There were a few missing that we would have liked to see, and we hope to see them soon.

Thursday morning I ran a 2 mile Turkey Trot and Madeline ran in a 100 yard "Drumstick Dash" for some exercise before all the food.

Then we went swimming at the hotel pool, which we did 4 times over the weekend.  Madeline's fear of water is lessening, so may be time for some lessons again.
We took our annual family photograph...minus a few members :-(

Then Madeline started playing photographer and snapped some photos of some family members.  Some weren't so flattering, so I left them off this blog post.

On Friday Madeline, Oma, Uncle Mike and I attended the town tree lighting ceremony where we had hot chocolate, cookies, saw fireworks, and the tree lighting.  Santa arrived in a fire truck, but we did not stay to see him because it was so cold!
On Sunday when we arrived home from horseback riding lessons there was a box from Santa on the door step...it was our own family elf.  He is now named Skittles and watching Madeline (and Max and Scooter) and reporting back to Santa every night on their behavior.
Monday morning Skittles was found out of his box and on top of the kitchen light.  Look for updates on where Skittles reappears.  So far he has made a big impact and we are hoping he stays all year long!
