Trip to Indianapolis Zoo

This weekend we finally got a chance to visit cousin Daniel and Heidi in Indianapolis. Daniel works at the zoo in the desert biome. He gave us a great tour and was able to spend some time with us and even show us some things behind the scenes!

Daniel arranged a very special tour of the elephant barn for us. This area is generally closed in the winter but we got to go in and get really close to Sophie a 44 year old African elephant. She showed us all her tricks and then we all got to pet her side and ears.

Madeline went swimming with Daddy. I thought it was funny when she had her swim suit on and then put on her furry boots.

We had a great time visiting Daniel and Heidi and we hope to do it again this summer when there are even more exhibits open at his zoo!
